The Comandos Autónomos Anticapitalistas (CAA) (Komando Autonomo Antikapitalistak in Basque, Autonomous Anticapitalist Commandos in English) were a Basque armed group with Autonomist Marxist politics, defined as an anarchistic breakaway of ETA.
They were very active in the 70s and 80s. Their most important attack was the assassination of Socialist Senator Enrique Casas in 1984, an attack that was rejected by all the political spectrum including ETA, which at the time, rejected violence against politicians.
Soon after, one of the few operating CAA commandos was ambushed by the Guardia Civil at the bay of Pasaia, killing four - all but one. That was in practical terms the end of CAA, whose members joined ETA.
